Shooting in Jacksonville leaves several dead


During Saturday afternoon, a massive shooting occurred in the city of Jacksonville, Florida, in which several people lost their lives. 

The mayor of the city, Donna Deegan, confirmed the incident without providing an exact death toll.

The events took place around 1:00 PM near the intersection of Kings Road and Canal Street, close to Edward Waters University. 

According to the authorities' report provided by the local channel News4Jax, the situation could be extremely serious.

In brief statements gathered by the media, Mayor Deegan expressed her dismay at the mass shooting: "This is unacceptable. One shooting is too many, but these shootings with multiple victims are very hard to comprehend."

The Jacksonville Police deployed a helicopter to the area and sent a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) intervention team to the scene of the incident. 

The area has been completely cordoned off by the authorities.
