Television network Fox News interrupted the broadcast of Donald Trump's speech in South Carolina this Friday to fact-check his statements on inflation in the United States and his repeated accusations of fraud in the 2020 elections when he contested against Joe Biden.

"I will continue to review the presidFent's comments, but I need to mention something without offending him (...) but I had to say that although the former president is entitled to his opinion, he is not entitled to his own set of facts," journalist Neil Cavuto intervened in the broadcast of the presidential hopeful's speech.

The journalist clarified a series of inaccuracies in Trump's statements about the average price of a gallon of gasoline, the movement of the domestic market, and the accusations of electoral fraud.

"They found no evidence of that (fraud) in the seven contested states where most of the allegations were focused. Trump lost each and every one of those states," noted the Fox News host.

This incident occurs amid the internal process taking place within the Republican Party to define its presidential candidate.

This is not the first time that a U.S. television network has cut the transmission of an event involving the former president to fact-check data or refute live statements.

During the 2020 electoral process, when Trump sought reelection and competed against Joe Biden, at least three news programs, including Fox News, did not echo the fraud allegations raised by the former president during his live broadcast.
