The President of the United States, Joe Biden, sent a message to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during his State of the Union address this Thursday, stating that he will not yield to his threats to NATO and Washington will not abandon Ukraine.

"My message to President Putin is clear. We will not back down. We will not yield, I will not yield. History is watching us," the US leader affirmed before the two chambers of Congress.

Biden began his State of the Union address this Thursday talking about how "freedom and democracy are being attacked around the world."

Biden compared the current era with the times prior to World War II, when Adolf Hitler was marching in Europe, and considered that now it is President Putin who has aspirations of conquest in Europe.

"Freedom and democracy are being attacked all over the world," Biden declared before the two chambers of Congress.

Biden assured that Republicans who say that China is growing and the United States is falling behind are wrong.

"The United States is rising," the president assured in a euphoric key economic speech in this election year.

Biden assured that he arrived at the presidency in 2021 "to move the country forward in one of the hardest periods" of its history, right in the midst of an economic downturn and a national emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which caused a strong contraction of GDP and unemployment of more than 14%.

Biden also promised that if he manages to regain control of Congress, he will restore the protection of the right to abortion in the country.
